Anchor Gathering 2021

The post is delayed due to a Countryfile visit with Adam Henson who spent the day helping us get the mares in for health checks- all was well and even the golden oldies went back to the hill but will be watched if the weather is extreme this winter.
The program will be aired either this Sunday or next Sunday we understand
We also welcomed RBST Christopher Price-to see the herd and how we manage our ponies
We had 16 foals this time but sadly 1 was born in his sac and the other from a maiden mare not nurtured.
We retained two colts Quidditch and Quality Street and have purchased a Blackthorn Poldark Colt who is a super character. These boys will strengthen our genetic diversity and look forward to seeing offspring in years to come.
Our show filly Quizzical is so rangy she has a huge frame to fill and is only our second filly by Kookaburra so delighted that he has thrown back to his dams side A.Redstarts bone and movement.
Here are some of the wonderful photos of the few days of gathering inspecting and checking –
The handling has started and we have several entered for foal shows for education.
Amanda Lockheart a pro photographer took some wonderful shots which we are allowed to share along with Dale Cherry who got his photo in the daily telegraph and we thank everyone else who has taken and sent lovely images too.
